Resistance & Resilience

Resistance is inevitable in life should one attempt anything, and that's great!  Resistance training makes us strong, able to do difficult things, able to rise above difficulties with endurance - resilience.  Resistance bands are one tool to do that physically - like those here...

And that makes me consider how there may be other resistance bands that strengthen in the other areas of life.  A band can be any small group of people with a shared purpose or pursuit.  The company of those whose passion is wellness, in this regard could be a resistance band, holding us accountable and encouraging us to push ourselves, as Hebrews 10:24 notes.  Conversely, companions whose worldview or ways of interacting with the world are unhelpful are to be guarded against, as highlighted in 1 Corinthians 15:33.

Jotting with Johnna
Building one's "tribe," banding together, even bridging gaps for one another will produce strength and improve character as "steel sharpening steel" (Psalm 27:17).  With whom are you "doing life" in such a way that it makes you more reliant on God, more resilient in life, and more ready to resist things that are unhelpful?  How do you go about cultivating this resistance band in your life?

Remember:  you are so very worthy of the intentionality and action required to ensure your cohorts are healthy companions as you work toward your best self physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, financially, and socially.

Stay tuned.  Stay focused.  Stay well.
